SUPERSET METHOD

Resistance training is a key part of a person's life where they want a healthy body and a good quality of life. Each person has their own needs and personal training experience, or age as many call it.

So, we divide the trainees into three major categories:

  1. Beginners, where we consider people who have not exercised at all or have a training age of 6 months.

  2. The mediocre, where we consider people with a training age from 6 months to about a year.

  3. The experienced, where their coaching age is characterized by years.

For this reason there are various training methods for each level of trainee. Super sets are a method for mediocre and especially for experienced practitioners.

But what are supersets?

It is now a well-known method of resistance training where it consists of competing competitors' exercises with zero or minimal break between them (Sandor Balsamo, 2012). That is, a popular superset is level chest presses and pulley traction. In this particular example the agonist is the major thoracic and the competitor is the broad dorsal with auxiliary (auxiliary) muscles the rhomboid and the middle trapezius. There are 8-12 repetitions, usually 3 sets with the interval between each set being 60 seconds.

This method is used because of the advantages it offers to the trainee. These are :

- Reducing the training time, since the trainee does two exercises together in almost zero time between them.

- Training 2 muscle groups in the same workout in a minimum of time.

- The choice of method depending on the goal of the trainee. That is, it can be used to improve muscle endurance, improve maximum strength, and achieve muscular hypertrophy.

Isn't the break short?

A reasonable question that would arise in many readers. The answer is no. The reason for this is the performance of two exercises by competing muscles. That is, during an exercise where the agonist muscle is activated, the competing muscle relaxes.

Conclusion :

If you are an experienced practitioner, supersets are a good resistance training method for improving muscle strength as well as saving your time.
