CIRCUIT TRAINING

The circuit training method is characterized by alternating exercises for the upper and lower body where they are performed in stations and is widely used for the positive effects it has on the human body (Aniceto, 2015).

Circuit training has been shown to be an appropriate training strategy for improving the cardiovascular system and for greater energy expenditure in men and women (Monteiro, 2008). Many of you, however, will wonder how a series of resistance exercises can have positive effects on the cardiorespiratory system. One of the many benefits of this type of training is the increased heart rate, ie in simpler words it causes the feeling of panting (gasping for breath). Heart rate is often used to vary the intensity of exercise in intense interval training (Ciolac, 2014).

Its intensity can be determined in various ways, such as the number of exercises that make it up, the repetitions and the load (kilos) performed on each of them. The perception of training tension is defined as the conscious sense of how strong, heavy, and painful physical exercise is (Goldstein, 2009).

Circuit training in addition to improving the cardiovascular system and simultaneous muscle strengthening has a great positive, where it is its main feature. The trainee completes his training in a minimum of time, ie the average duration is about 35 minutes (Motriz, 2016), depending of course on the number of exercises and individual repetitions.
